Studio Verde was exactly as described in Filipe’s website, except better! Late summer in November and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Consolacao. The studios are cosy and warm (central heating in the true Skandivanian style!). The view and the waves, just a 30 m walk to perfect surf. The place is simply magic and we recommend to anyone keen in marvelous scenery and surf.

päällä, melkein, mahtavat näkymät ja meren pauhu. Vuoteesta avautuu näkymä Atlantin parhaille aalloille, kämpillä oikea keskuslämmistys (=kuivaa & lämmintä). Filipen nettisivut eivät lupaa yhtään liikaa, päinvastoin, kämpät on parempia kuin kuvista voi edes kuvitella. Helppo suositella jos surffi tai maisema tai romanssi kiinnostaa.

Vietimme neljän hengen porukalla viikon Casa d’Arribassa kesällä 2008. Enpä muista missä olisin aamukahvit paremmissa
maisemissa hörppinyt – näkymä parvekkeelta Atlantille on mahtava! Joka aamu oven takana odotti runsas ja herkullinen
aamupalakori, josta nautimme kahvin kanssa paikallisia leipomotuotteita ja vastapuristettua appelsiinimehua. Kesäkuun lopussa oli vielä hiljaista, mutta se sopi meille hyvin. Aallot ovat varmasti kokeneempien surffaajien mieleen, näin aloittelijoille vähän turhan rankat. Mutta olipa niitä ilo ihailla rannaltakin käsin. Lissaboniin oli kätevää tutustua omalla autolla, sinne Consolacaosta on vähän yli tunnin matka.

This was a beautiful apartment. You couldn’t ask for a more stunning view.
It is rated as 4 star accommodation. I would actually increase this to a 5 star. Everything was new, clean and trendy. I could live there year round! The breakfast each morning was amazing. There is a great restaurant around the corner (opposite the restaurant on the beach) that was open in the winter and offered amazing dinner to go at a great price. You can surf right off the point below Casa d’Arriba. There is free wifi if needed. This is a great find and I am recommending it to friends and my parents. Thanks for having us stay! We will be back.

Casa d’ Arriba is a beautiful house situated in Consolação, 5-6 km outside the city of Peniche. The house consists of three apartments. We stayed in the yellow one, Amarelo, for a week. Have stayed in a lot of different B&B’s and guesthouses during our trips around southern Europe, but no place comes close to this – It is absolutely wonderful. The rooms, the kitchen, the balcony (!), the bathroom, the kind and caring owners and the plentiful, delicious breakfast that is delivered outside your door every morning at 9.00… It’s almost too good to be true. There are a lot good places in the neighborhood if you surf. If you don’t, you can always take a walk along the beach to the famous Supertubos to watch pro surfers ride the clashing waves. Rental bikes are also available in Consolação, and we really recommend a bike tour in the beautiful surrounding areas. This place is, as we said when we arrived, simply far too good to be true and even better than in the pictures!
